Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming offers a new and eye-opening adventurer in every corner. Not only are there so many dramatic and out-of-this-world rock formations to see, there are also formidable hikes to explore, a diverse and ever-changing climate (it can rain, snow, drop to -5 degree and jump up to 80 degrees all in one day), and, most importantly, there are endless opportunities for the untrained off-the-beaten-track hiker to get killed. Below are images of just such an experience. It included being lost for an entire day, crossing a 10 ft deep river only to being eaten alive by black flies, crossing boiling mud and water, seeing shoes melt on one's feet, coming face-to-face with a bison and finally traversing a forest that was recently burnt down. All-in-all, it was the most amazing day that will be forever burned into my brain!
