The prestigious WATERFRONT AWARDS 2018 charity gala was held at The Globe and Mail Centre’s spectacular Level 17, where panoramic views of the city twinkled below, greeting GTA’s outstanding women, still aglow from the red carpet. Benefiting The Canadian Centre for Abuse – – this inaugural event recognized the milestone achievements of women in 15 diverse categories.

All the senses of this powerhouse of 400+ women were fully engaged at this SOLD OUT event.  Estrogen pumped in rhythm with the jazz trio, drinks flowed, gourmet foods were inhaled and live entertainment enthralled, as our talented Stella Jurgen’s live-painting emerged from her formerly blank canvas.  Once signed by the nominees, Stella – a nominee in the Arts & Culture category – generously donated this unique one-of-a-kind memento to benefit the Abuse Hurts foundation’s silent auction fundraising initiatives.

With 97 memorable years now under her belt, the Honourable “Hurricane Hazel” McCallion not only kicked up her heels dancing on stage but also kicked off the awards segment, receiving The Legacy Lifetime Achievement Award, aptly presented by her successor Bonnie Crombie, Mayor of Mississauga.

Our own marketing and communications whiz Eniko Campbell was awestruck when she stepped into that same spotlight, as winner of the Outstanding Innovator Award, 2018!  As Eniko clutched her “Waterfront Awards Oscar” and long stemmed roses, it capped a truly memorable evening for two of 17 Designs’ talented team!
