A large number of corporations have decided to move their labour operations offshore to countries such as India or the Phillippines. This is because developing countries have a lower labour costs. Because you never talk to the people who actually do this work, it is difficult to monitor the quality. Before signing with a Search Engine Optimization company ask them where their labour force is and what practices they employ.

In a recent review of a website, we noticed that the high SEO ranking was the result of offshore bogus websites providing links. This included fictious people looking for dating services that had a website link back to the originating website. This Black Hat strategy is a cause for alarm and it frowned upon by Google. In fact, it could get your website banned or penalized heavily by Google.

The Internet Marketing industry has its fair share of scam artists. Before accepting the proposal by any SEO Cold call, ask a lot of questions, find out who is actually doing the work and stay away from individuals that use confusing language.
